Off topic a little bit but in line with the previous post -- one time I was in the finance office and thought it was a done deal and they pulled the old bait and switch on interest rates. The rate that the salesman had told me I was "approved" for was lower than the rate that the finance guy told me. Thus, the monthly payments were higher than expected. I told him no thanks and was prepared to leave. After they squirmed for a bit the finance guy magically found a lender that would give me the interest rate that was previously discussed by the salesman. I was still ticked because they tried to pull a fast one on me. Finally I got out of there with the car but had a lot of buyer's remorse due to a horrible dealer experience. I traded the car in at another dealer the next day. Funny thing is, I traded it in for $2K more than I paid for it the night before.

The original dealership (bad experience) was a luxury car dealer that had new Bentleys in their showroom and Maseratis out front. I was really disgusted with them!

All that said, the advice on the tire insurance sounds good and I will look into it when it comes time to purchase.
