I thought the car had been tested in "severe" winter conditions - well thats what I read about when the car was first released...

I still pour warm/hot water on the side windows and too have heard that too hot water may shatter a window, however I do recall that in freezing temperatiures the water doesn't stay hot for long...

Pouring water on the windows is something that was practiced a lot in the Winter when I was younger living in Newcastle.

A car cover may be an idea... or some kind of window shield....
