Hawk Pads

Good work K-Man, those lines are pesky critters aren't they?

For those who wish, Hawk has a very good discription of the different pads available on their website (www.hawkperformance.com). The HPS is a good all round choice for a performance street/track pad. The advantage K-Man will get is increased performance when hot, with little noticably loss cold (street). The HP Plus is a more aggresive street/track pad that will provide better initial grip but more brake dust, faster rotor wear and less pad life.

When you choose the more agressive pads, Hawk Blues and up, noise and cold braking on the street become an issue. I love the Blues! Great pedal feel and when hot they stop! The disadvantage is the you will tear up the rotors when cold, they squeal like a pig on the street and produce copious quantities of toxic brake dust. The Black racing compound is probably more suited for driving to the track.

Remember, brakes, like tires are consumables. The better they work the more often you will have to replace them.
