I'll admit that I'm a total caymanclub forum lurker, reading all of you owner's discussion with envy, building and re-building my Cayman on the Porsche webpage configurator, and wondering when I'll give in and drive to the dealer with my checkbook. The first time I saw the Cayman, I thought it was beautiful. When I test drove one, it was all over for me.
But I'll tell you one little thing that keeps eating at me as I'm playing with options on Porsche's webpage... I find Porsche's color choices generally really uninspiring. Take a look at the configurator for the gorgeous Maserati GrandTurismo:

It seems like every color choice is stunning, and the possible interior/exterior combinations are amazing. Whenever I go to build my Cayman (and I'm probably about to offend some people), all the colors seem like the most conservative, unexciting shades... what I'd expect from, say, Toyota. I'd love red if it were richer, blue if it were less Honda Civic Si, yellow if it were less "warning sign", or white if it had just a little tonality in it. I always end up picking black or one of the silvers, which is fine, but I see colors on other cars that I actually *love* (and of course I'm too cheap for the Porsche custom color option).
The versions on the Maserati look so much more modern, but maybe Porsche wants all of their cars to remain "classic". But even BMWs and Audis have a better palette I think. I realize this is fairly petty, but I'm certain that it won't be that long until I give in to my desire and order my first Porsche and I'd love for it to be just that extra bit perfect.
Am I alone?
