There is enough space in the slot were the seat belt goes though the latch for the latch to turn.. Before you think I am crazy, if you bend the belt on to itself in the direction you want it to turn and force the latch though it it will turn. This is not an easy operation, but with a little effort ,it is not that hard. It has happened to me.

Good luck and don't despair. If you feel you can not do it, take it to the dealer.
