If you read the actual testing specs in the IIHS website, for example here Frontal offset test information yuou will find that in a way, your correct. However, it has nothing to do with "luxury". Front impact tests are only relevant in the same class (think weight) of cars. So if your cayman smacks a H2 head-on, most likely you lose. This bit of info sometime is overlooked by owners of small cars talking about their wonderful front impact test scores but sometimes they tend to ignore the testing discussion on the website. However, that is not true on side-impact tests. Side impact test are all equal.
