I've been told to press on the badge, don't press on the badge, cross your eyes while murmuring a mantra of sorts, etc. I was told that pressing on the badge was bad because it was not proper to push on a Porsche badge - no mechanical reason, more out of respect!
I've gotta try the door open solution though......out to the garage I go.
