I agree there seem to be far too many different schools of thought on this one... BTW, I got my CS last week and dealer said the reason not to press on the front badge was that over time it created a stress indentation around it... I tend to believe that.

To add yet another opinion to this, my dealer said bring the front boot lid all the way down to where it rests on the latch, it will click itself in part-way (which it does), to finish you use two fingers on each far side of the lid and gently press down. Works for me so far. (With all due respect to those who practice that much discipline, I personally think it's a bit much to fear actually touching your car. These things are essentially designed to survive the elements -- Now I'm not suggesting parking them outside in the rain or snow (or strong sun/heat), but if you keep them clean, the occasional fingerprint is no big deal... Unless your fingers are routinely covered with nachos or peanut butter.

Didn't even realize there WAS a handle for the rear hatch.. Have to try that tonight...
