Well it's a moot point now. I just ordered my winter wheels from
Wheel Enhancement with the
TPMS installed.
I went with the 17" Cayman rims (take-offs) with Porsche recommended ContiWinterSport tires. The tires are great. I had them on my Boxster and they're not a deep snow tire, but they're great in light snow and slush and are really good on cold sub zero roads. They corner nearly as well as the summer tires. No sidewall flex.
Shipped to Toronto all in about $2,500.

TPMS - The Tire Pressure Monitoring System provides early warning of any drop in pressure by continuously monitoring the pressure in each tire and alerting you in the onboard computer display in the event of a pressure deficiency. It communicates the exact pressure of each tire and/or their deviation from ideal pressure. This does away with the need for regular air pressure checks at the service station, which often prove highly inconvenient.
