When facing this problem on my AS 2006, I chose to remove the lips and repaint them with the Arctic Silver (you can do it or have a body shop do it). Because of the frequency of damage to these vulnerable elements, I keep a spare set painted and ready to go on - then I fix the damaged ones at leisure.
