PCA members can go to the latest (Oct '07) Panorama magazine and read Joel Reiser's negative but informative view on short shifters. Take away "When they talk about doing more precise shifts, they mean you, not the shifter." And "What a short shifter does is trade away leverage to shorten the motion of your hand. This makes sense if your hand's slow speed is the problem". A good read for PCA members to consider.
