my yellows were the same way. the pagid website says to file the edges to 45 degrees when the rotors are not new. i did have to use light hammering and i had to really make sure i pushed the calipers (or whatever) completely open. i think once you bed them as the website states you will be fine. i liked having them thick. they last longer and you do not have depress the brake pedal far to stop.
