I'm a die hard believer in using clay bars anytime before you wax the car. Guarantee that when you're finished with all the steps, your car feels better than it did in the showroom. The little bits of dust, tree wax, bugs don't go away with a simple wash and wax. I've used them for years and have never been disappointed. Caveat: if you accidentally drop the bar on the ground while working on your car, throw it away or you'll scratch the finish.
Pinnacle is my favorite source of car care materials (from Classic Motor Accessories). They key to doing it right though, is to use the Pinnacle spray wax as a lubricant and do small sections at a time. It takes an afternoon to get through all the steps (wash, paint cleanser, clay, polish, wax). But isnt the Cayman worth it?
