I do enjoy the power in my car, the handling..overall I feel it is a great package. I do have a Honda Fit as my DD so I was looking into something a little more fun.
How would it be going from my 335 to a base 987? 5.8 0-60 is not slow at all..though the 335 is a good amount quicker. On the other hand the Boxster would handle much better (I have the sport package) and be more fun to drive. I don't need anything special, I think a base with heated seats and I'm happy.
Thoughts?

The 335i is a great car. Super torque delivery, turbine smooth car. Nice chassis and tossable to boot.
The Cayman is more buttoned down, and gives you better feedback. Steering is awesome. Turn in almost telepathic. A lot of that is available in the 2.7. In a way with the 2.7 you might have to work the car harder (which in itself is no bad thing). Unless on the track, around town you hardly ever get a chance to push the 3.4 Cayman S.
In the price range the Lotus Elise (but better still an Exige S) might be worth looking at. Much more raw and visceral and they dont sell well so you can get bargains on new cars and since they depreciate they are worth snapping up second hand. I bring up the Lotus because a freind attended a Lotus School in Nevada and from his description the car was excellent. The Exige S is a car I wouldnt mind adding to my garage to keep the Cayman company (but it needs money - maybe I need to work harder!)
