Both cars are nor really comparable. The BMW is designed for Autobahn use, it is very comfortable for long distance drives. Also the engine is newer, and - hate to say that - at the moment better.
But, the image of the car... well I find it boring. Also the the front part is very heavy, therefore it will not allow any fun. If you wish to drive the car really fast with good results you must be a very good driver.
With the 987 it is much easier to move quickly around any curse. Also you need your brakes 2 seconds later than the BMW. Overall the 987 is by far more emotional, I guess this is due to the front weight of the car.

HBowever keep in mind Porsche is working heavily on new engines which are due to enter the market at the end of the year. The S should come with 315 and the new 7gear PDK. This would make for the -none S - around 265.
