Well, the dealer wasnt lying about all the other ones on the lot rattling, i chekced that myself. However, i do agree that it is ridiculous that they order a new one from Germany, and just dont remove the headliner and stick some foam up there and resolve the problem themselves.

I find it real curious that no one else is expereincing this problem. If i reach up behind and press upon the headliner, there is a "clearance" between it and the roof itself. It is in this space that the problem resides....the material in which the alacantara is wrapped around is in constant motion with road vibrations...and these vibrations have it vibrating against the roof, creating a non-stop cacaphony of sound.

It is ironic though that every other car on teh lot had this same "clearance space", and thus, subject to the same rattling. Whereas all other normnally aspirated roofs (lol) had thick inner lining of foam. Kinda makes me wonder if the dealer themselves is doing the headliners? It IS definately very annopying..squeaks and rattles being my #1 pet peeve in a car.

Err....fully loaded PDE-1 with 626 miles on it for 80K anyone?
