3.4L Cayman S vs 3.4L 1999-2001 Carrera
I drove 1999 Carrera, 2000 Carrera, 2001 Carrera, 2003 Carrera, and 2004 Carrera.
Both Cayman S and 1999-2001 Carrera are 3.4L.
However, 99-01 Carrera feel faster and smoother than Cayman S.
Usually we can tell if RPM is close to redline or not by listening the engine sound and feeling the power decrease. (i.e. my Mitsubishi, the redline is 6500 rpm, I do not feel any power after 6000 rpm)
When I was accelerating in 2001 Carrera, I did not feel the engine is been pushed to its limit. The power of the car was still increasing even when I hit the redline (then it cut the fuel), I really think the car will still keep increase power until 9000RPM.
Please excuse my English, if this doesn't make sense to you.
Here is an example what I feel between Carrera and Cayman S.
Carrera is like a strong man who can carry 100 lb, but he can really carry 150 lb. Cayman S is a normal man who can only carry 80-90 lb, but because (VarioCamPlus), he now can carry 100 lb. But Cayman S is been push to/over the limit.
For VarioCamPlus, is it just another name for VETC?
In my RSX Type-S, the VETC kick in at 5600RPM.
I guess in Cayman S is 4000RPM?
And the sport button is just make the VarioCamPlus /VETC to kick early in low RPM.
correct me if I am wrong.
