I did the same thing when changing my oil. Threads are fine, but the head is a little stripped / rounded off. I hope I don't have problems taking it off when it comes time for the next change.
I'm using the 8,000lb Rhino ramps and a jack as backup. The plastic just doesn't give me enough of a warm fuzzy feeling to crawl underneath without backup.
