Rant on....Unlike many on here I have been happy with my Conti SportContact 2's on my CS. However, I have worn the rears down to the wear bars. So I go to get another set.....they have been discontinued..WTF? It would be easy to blame Continental for this but my CS is only 13 months old...Porsche used a tire on a brand new car that was in the process of being discontinued. This is a car that everyone knows uses rear tires at a 2:1 ratio to fronts, at best (and maybe 3:1 given the condition of my fronts). Completely irresponsible. I have been a Porsche owner for 9 years and a fan for much longer. I usually either defend Porsche or sit on the sidelines and say nothing when people complain about the high cost of options, maintenance, etc. During my Porsche ownership I have quietly choked down tire expenses as the cost of owning a sports car that eats through tires. I don't have a problem with this...however, replacing tires (the fronts in this case) that don't need to be replaced because I can't get matching rears has got me fired up!
