Tips can really shine on the track.
You can downshift faster in a Tip than matching revs by Heal N Toeing a manual.
Especially if you are running down a couple of gears.
And, a spin in a Tip does not mean putting both feet into the pedals and worrying about auto-rotating the engine. The tip will simply stall the engine, not crashing the pistons into the valves.
I've had a previous Tip Cayman, and the criticism of this transmission comes from people who have not learned to drive it. Just like when you learn how to drive a manual, you need to recognize it's characteristics to take advantage of it.
