The word "snob" implies that the person being labelled as such has a superior attitude based on his possession of an object, his personal status or his net worth. If you buy an automobile that you truly desire, even if it is considered by some to have so-called "snob-appeal," as long as you don't buy into the superiority argument, there is no reason why anyone should consider you to be a snob. Envious people may try to stick you with the "snob" label, but you can prove them wrong by your graciousness and the general manner in which you conduct yourself. You can't stop envy, but you can demonstrate that it is ill-considered with regard to you. 987f
