I was so excited about washing my CS for the first time. I researched the Cayman Care Forum for cleaning tips and products. I purchased high end soap, mitts, towels and a soft squeegee. Anxiously I waited for the sun to set before lathering the car in waves of soapy suds. In my excitement, I forgot to remove my belt, ring and watch, all of which contain metal. This was a huge mistake. I scratched the paint, probably with my metal belt fastener while leaning in to wash the top of the car. Pretty stupid move on my part, and I'm reminded of my carelessness each time I open the car door. I suspect that many of you have figured this out and jettison all metal objects hanging from your body before washing your car. If this thought hasn’t occurred to some of you, I hope this story serves a purpose and saves someone from the anguish I am experiencing.
