Just thought I'd follow up on the short shifter install at Fremont today. They put it in in a couple of hours and gave me a full PCA 10% discount on parts and labor. The shifter is great and the price came in about $80 below what I've seen at other dealerships.
Another thing I found out was that I get a free 90 day service because I bought the car there. Nothing major, but they go over the car, top off fluids and run it through the computer to check for faults. I thought that was kind of nice. So far I've been nothing but happy with the service and the prices.
