OK this is what I've found out. None of the on-line companies My Tyres, Black Circle etc have any Michelins. I mailed Michelin to ask them what was going on, they replied "We would advise that the Pilot Sport PS2 size 265/35 ZR19 N1 is an out of stock item at this moment in time with no dates. However, we would always advise staying in contact with your local Porsche dealer, as they have their own network of Porsche dealerships throughout the country, which could possibly source a pair of tyres for you."

So I rang Porsche Chester and they told me that there has been a supply problem for the last 8 - 9 months. Continental have stopped manufacturing N rated tyres, which meant people were buying Michelin and Bridgestone. It sounds like Porsche have been exposed and bought from 'outside the country' all the N tyres they could find. The guy at Chester said in the past they have had to provide hire cars to people with a puncture because they couldn't replace their tyres !

So he has ordered me a pair, but he had had to quote my registration and DOT number from the tyre BEFORE Porsche will release the tyres to him. Of course they are £220 more than Costco, and it didn't matter how much I bitched he wouldn't reduce the price.

So chaps, we're pretty well over the Porsche barrel, so drop your trousers and prepare to be f.......d.
