For the most part, I think a 5 hour jam is only something that happens during Golden Week these days. A few years ago, jams used to be way worse than these days as I'm sure you are aware. I think ETC has really helped as has the ever raising price of petrol. Streets are a lot quieter these days even in Tokyo. Give me a shout when you head to Fuji
