I like the look of the silver trim on the outside of the rim also. In fact, on the Porsche build-your-own, I believe they show it with silver trim around the rim. When I was odering mine I think I had to use the build-your-own on the Canadian site because the US site didn't allow you to choose an alternating rim color.

However, on the SD wheels, every other spoke actually extends into the outside ring of the rim. I would think this would make it pretty difficult to paint and I'm not sure if powder coating spokes only is even possible (don't know enough about the powder coating process).
