I wouldn't drill into my exhaust system, but I would consider the free exhaust mod posted elsewhere in this forum. I think you need a couple of basic tools to slide open the connector pipe between the mufflers. Many people report a better sound, but some have complained about headaches after a few drives with the mod. You should be able to search for it. I'm only afraid to do this mod because I will get addicted to a better sound and then need to go aftermarket for a whole new exhaust to satisfy my addiction.
