Just thought I would share my story in case anyone else is contemplating removal of the clear bra or buying a clear bra..

First off, I'm the second owner of my 06 CS. It has obviously been kept in fantastic condition. Most of this cars life has been spent in a garage being waxed and cared for. The bra is from 3M and was professionally installed.

Reason for removal was that I saw signs of "edge" lifting on mirrors and did not care for the look as the bra was very noticeable (my color is Black). Had I bought the car new, I would not have installed a clear bra due to its visibility. I would take the risk of road rash.

Anyway, I removed per instructions (which was a warm day removal) and it peeled without incident. I noticed two things: 1) The color underneath the bra was a shade lighter than original. Wax buildup is the reason for color change. Re-waxing the entire mirror brought the two shades back to one. No issue.. 2). The clear bra plastic was Yellow and I mean Yellow! While my car is black, the yellow is not that noticeable but what about non black cars? If you are thinking about a clear bra, be advised that these yellow with time (BTW in a covered garage most of the time). So, what do I want to share?

A). Peeling the clear bra off is easy, non damaging, and wont lift the paint.
B). Be advised that 3M Clear Bras turn yellow in about a year even if left in a garage.
C). There are "shading" differences after removal and that re-waxing can restore (on black anyway).
