I live on Long Island and visited 3 local Porsche dealerships. I wound up finding the car I wanted by a forum member going the extra distance for me and tracking it down in Boston. After contacting the dealership via email, they worked out a great deal and a decent trade in on my 08 Corvette and I pick up the car on Friday. Best way to find the car you want if you didn't know already is to do a search on the Porsche website for either a specific state or dealers within a certain radius of your zip code. Most dealerships have extensive inventory listed with prices, options, ect. Disregard the latter part of this comment if you already know this info.
