I am in San Jose and have been Boxstering for 9 years. I know many dealership and independent mechanics. The independent mechanics use to work at dealerships then started their owns shops.

There are 2 great independent shops, in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara, that do pre purchase inspections. Problem is they do not yet have a PIWIS because it is so expensive. They have PST2s but it don't work on 2005 up cars.

If you just want a printout of the working log then I know somone with a PIWIS, but he is in the Sacramento area. He is not a mechanic.

If you can get the car to Rector Porsche in Burlingame or Stevens Creek Porsche in San Jose I will give you the names of the mechanics I have known for years who I would trust to do a pre purchase inspection on a car I was considering buying. Both dealerships have a PIWIS. I think Stevens Creek charges $250 for the inspection. I do not know what Rector charges.
