OK, I went to the dealer and drove the new '08 S on Saturday....wow! The salesman has come down from $55K and change to $54K, which he says is their invoice cost. The sticker is $60.9K (includes sport chrono as the only option) and also there is a dealer installed lojack on the car plus they will include mats and the colored wheel hub crests at my request. That brings the list up to about $61.9K. When I use Edmunds.com's analysis I indeed come up with about $54K for the dealer invoice. I might be able to get them down to $53.5K final price, which would be 13.5% discount or $500 below invoice. Financing is available from Porsche at 5% for 60 months ($10K down).

There is also a very nice low mileage '06 S (with a lot of options) for sale at another dealer for $44K.

Decisions...decisions.
