I've been carrying a weapon on me for about 4 years now. (business related)I've been pulled over just over a handful of times since then. Every single time, I've been let off with a "warning". Like this morning. Almost intentially ran an early red light going to work, when I see a cop stopped at the adjacent light. So, I slam the brakes and end up in the middle of the intersection. I put it in reverse and back up behind the line.

Well, he turns right and makes an immediate u-turn to get behind me and the lights go off. I'm thinking "GREAT"...just what I need this morning. So he approaches my vehicle, I have my D/L,Insurance,Reg & firearm license in my right hand. Both my hands are on the steering wheel palms up. (Learned this from the guy who taught my firearm safety class) He takes a look over everything I give him, asks what kind of weapon I have and where it's located. I tell him and he says "slow it down, you're gonna kill somene". I reply "Thanks! Have a good one!" And I'm off!

I'm telling you, this is like the 7th time this has happened. (first time in the Porsche) I figure it's 2 things.....1-the cop appreciates you doing everything possible to make him feel safe by being upfront with him about being armed and the extra both palms up on the wheel just shows him that you want to make his job easier and more secure. And 2-cops are people too, and they don't want to take any unneccessary risks dealing with armed individuals. You figure it out....
