Number of vehicles to date

After becoming addicted to this site early on, it's apparent that we all have 'car issues' (as my wife likes to call it). While reading the 'What's Your Age?' thread, it seems like I'm not the only one that has gone through many cars in my short existence. I'm interested to hear what everyone has owned and what their favorite car is/was? Also, how long do you tend to keep a car?

Here's my list to prove that I have 'issues' -

1. 1983 Chevy S-10 pickup; 2. 1989 Ford Mustang; 3. 1993 Chevy Cavalier; 4. 1995 Nissan Pathfinder; 5. 1997 VW Jetta; 6. 2000 BMW 3-series; 7. 2002 Toyota Tacoma; 8. 2003 Lexus IS300; 9. 2003 BMW M3; 10. 2004 BMW 540i; 11. 2004 Porsche Cayenne; 12. An addition to the Cayenne - 2006 Cayman S.

There were some life changing events that drove some of those changes (i.e., child, etc) but I have to agree with my wife that for being only 34 I sure have had a few vehicles. The M3 was my favorite (shortly thereafter we found out we were pregnant with my daughter) and I'm excited to get into a true sports car.

N don't feel too bad, The Cayman I'm picking up tomorrow is my 15th Porsche, of course I'm older than you,and I've also had a few more cars, way over 100 in my lifetime and don't plan to stop buying now, it's way too much fun!

Wow, 15 Porsche's! Now that's a goal I can strive for. It'll probably lead to divorce but...

Wow...15 Porsche's at any age is a nice feat. I've had my share of cars, in many shapes, sizes, colors and purposes. Early on I sold them because they either broke down or I couldn't afford them. Later on I sold when I upgraded. Now I keep and pass to my wife ....really, no joke, she now has the Infiniti and I drive the Acura during business trips or inclement weather and the 911 other times.

This may be mundane, but as a life-long professional student (BSc MSc PhD MD)there were cheap cars kept for long times:

1. 1981 Mazda GLC (red)

2. 1989 Nissan pickup (red)

3. 2000 Mazda Protege (again, red)

After med school and a little bit of high volume work:

4. 2001 Land Rover Discovery II (green, for a change) - now doing it's best to die before 100,000 km

5. Wife's 2002 Land Rover Freelander (black)

6. 2006 Cayman S on order!!!!! (guess what colour - RED of course!! Red belts, red dials)

wow 15 Porsches, thats something to look up to.

Here's my short list but then again Im only 19

1. 2003 SportDesign Lexus IS300 (totalled-not my fault)

2. 2005 Raven Black Yamaha R6 (Trading it infor the the redesigned '06 R6)

3. 2005 Onyx Black Lexus IS300

4. 2006 Raven Black Yamaha R6 (On order, picking up on the 28th of this month)

5. 2006 Basalt Metallic Black Cayman S (Ordering this spring)

As you can tell I have a thing for black cars. Even though they get dirty easily, there is nothing like a clean black car.
