extended warranty finally paid off

When I leased my 2005 tahoe(Detroit garbage) I signed the papers with this little hottie in a tight swaeter who was trying her best to separate me from more of my money(imagine that!). After she flashed the cleavage for about the 10th time -I finally relented and bought the "Hendrick platnium package" which started out at about 4 grand but ended up at 15.00 extra a month added to my lease payments. I have always been skeptical about extended warranties. Today at 41k I took it in for service. The power/memory seat kept running until I punched buttons several times. Also a funny noise in the steering. Loose trim parts. Buned out bulb. No big deal. When I got the bill it was over 2000kThe plan picked up the entire tab less 100.00. Woulda really cut a chunk out of my mad money to write a 2000.00 check over some BS!!!! Really crummy quality to have this stuff happen 4 k out of regular 36k warranty. This may be my last GM product. Thanks to that little sweetie who convinced me to buy- actually saved me money for a change

The moral of the story is "boobies are worth the money" or "tits save lives".

I don't know if the described sales technique would've gotten me to buy an extended warranty-- a clear bra, yes; extended warranty, no.

Wow, buying an extended warranty on something you don't even own? I couldn't see doing that!

Funny,

I had a 2004 Avalanche (35,000 miles), extended warranty (no boobies), in the shop every other month for drifting sided to side and a rattle in the steering until I sued GM to buy it back.

I ended up leasing a Cayman!

48 mo lease- 72k miles allowed- warranty out after 36k. Oil changes- free Tahoe loaners- tire rotation- some free details- other perks. I think that they would have nailed me for the repairs when I turned it in. Under the circumstances it has worked out OK.

My Tahoe has been in the shop twice for the steering rattle.POS. My problem is that I go off road and I need a big roomy SUV for hunting, fishing, kids sports, ect.I am getting a Cayenne loaner next weeek for a couple of days to play with but I don't think it will work for my purposes. I am not a Toyota guy so what else is left?

Stay with the Tahoe, still is the best driving SUV. The service manager at Rydell said they where using Marine grease to pack the lower steering column, witch was suppose to eliminate the rattle. I don’t know it this is true since I gave up my Avalanche.
