Ugly Cars

If this has been done before than Moderators please take this down.

I have been reading a number of threads where members refer to this car or that car "is UGLY". So I thought it would fun to hear from members as to what is there ugly car choice and why.

Please name your ugly car or cars from the past decade and a sentence or two as to why. Let's not get into who is right or wrong, except members choices and let's see which cars rise to the top or bottom, I guess.

My Choices:

Lexus SC:
Dated before it was launched, looks like something from the 1930's that has been partially compacted.

Nissan GTR:
Looks like designed my commity and being in that industry I know that is a recipe for disaster and Nissan has proved me right. The front and middle and back do not blend into a cohesive look. I recently listened to an interview by Nissan's head of US design, he stated that 3 design groups were involved in the project, US, Europe and Japan. He went on to say the front was designed in one studio the middle another and the back at a third. My point exactly.

Anyone want to play?

+1 for the:
Aztec - the hunchback of automobiles
Ford Taurus - Does anyone other than rental companies buy them?

Dodge Charger - Ugly, but in a good way

BTW, the Pacer (definitely) and Audi 5000 (really?) weren't in the last decade.

Pontiac Aztec

My family and I drove one of these hideous beasts from Denver to Las Vegas a few years ago as a rental. We nicknamed it the Platypus because it looked like mistake from god - part mammal, part amphibian, all ugly.

Honda Element . . . definitely an element you will never find in the periodic table!
Unless scientists declare UGLY to be the newest element!

Is the Pontiac Aztec coyote ugly or just a two bagger?

I have never like wedge shaped cars, like the VW Scirocco, Ferrari 308 GT4, or Triumph TR7, 1st version Toyota MR2, but this Aston Marton Lagonda is too much

Wedges are best left as shims, or cheese.

I never liked the "dual taper" of the first Alfa Romeo Spyder. It reminded me of a banana or something worse with a dual taper.

The recent Subaru Tribeca is right up there. A sort of Edsel meets Jap crossover.

Their owners seem indifferent to detailing also!

As for the Z4, I really, really like the M Coupe version over the roadster. The car seems to have meant to be a coupe.

The new BMW 1 Series is a refreshing getaway from the Bangle overstyling.

Best regards,

Roger the Waxmeister
