Well the Cayman is obviously more expensive than the Ducati.
The Ducati is $20,000 and the Cayman is $80,000.
But the Ducati is more expensive to insure than the Cayman. Go figure.
Statistically they say you're six times more likely to be killed or injured riding a bike then driving a car.
It's also a lot more involving and a lot more fun. Given a perfect Sunday morning I'd rather be on the bike than in the car. But the car is great for other stuff that the bike obviously can't do.
Anyway, what's everyone else driving when they're not in their Cayman?
Pedal power. A different kind of bike. When I am not driving my Cayman, I am riding my Bianchi road bike. In extreme situations I drive whatever is in the ZipCar parking lot across the street.
Bought a used 2005 King Ranch Expedition - as a tow vehicle. I was going to get a plain jane used Suburban, but my wife fell in love with the King Ranch leather interior.
Averages about 14 MPG.
