Porsche history book

Can anyone recommend agood book dealing with the Porsche marque history. I'm looking for general history information, not specific model [911, 914, 928 Boxster] evolution,sales values or modifications. I've seen enough of those. I'd like to learn about Frederich, Ferry and others and how the company evolved andtheir design philosophies. ISBN identification would help. Thank you. Ejengr

There is a three volume set, Porsche -- Excellence Was Expected, by Karl Ludvigsen. I think it is considered the definitive history and is available from Amazon for about $150. A one-volume history that seems pretty good is Porsche -- The Road from Zuffenhausen, by Dennis Adler. Also available from Amazon. Both treat with the cars, the families, and the business.

Agreed, if you have just one Porsche book (albeit in 3 volumes) the Ludvigson should be it.
