Nissan GTR vs. Corvette ZR1 - Nurburgring Videos

Check this video out...

ZR1 vs GTR at the 'Ring - Garage419 | Garage419 - Car guys love to argue. Let the debate rage!

Looks like the ZR1 beat the GTR and watching the videos it appeared to me that the ZR1 pilot was close to losing it a few times and that turning that time in the ZR1 was harder than turning the nearly same time in the GTR.

Was the GTR a tip? I assume so by the lack of apparent changing of the gears. I concur that the GTR driver even seems more relaxed in his efforts at least in the first three minutes.

The ZR1 hit a top speed of 179 best I could tell. I also concur that it seemed the GTR handled the effort easier. Could be the car, could be the driver. Hard to tell. The ZR1's driver had a lot more inputs on the wheel.

Aren't all the GTRs sequential transmission currently?

Yep, they're paddle shifted. On street tires and with that kind of power I thought both cars seemed very stable considering the GTR is awd. The most impressive thing to me was watching the speedo on the vette when he clamped down those Enzo Ceramics!

Yes, they all have dual clutch trannies, which translates to having both hands on the whell ALL the time, instead of having to leave your right hand off the wheel in order to shift.

It allows you more time to focus on the road, rather than having to go through all the moves that would require you to shift manually. I know that after a while shifting becomes second nature, but nothing can compare to the ease and quickness of a dual clutch tranny.

The GT-R driver was only trying to prove what everybody already knew, that it is a fast car. The ZR-1 driver only HAD to beat the GT-R, which is why you see the driver pushing it so hard when compared to the GT-R.

Keep in mind that an average Joe can get in a GT-R and do real well, you put even a "good" driver into the ZR-1, and he will probably crash it eventually.
