i dont know about how every member ends up finding this great forum, but it was not easy for me. after buying the cayman...it took many searches and registering on 'lesser' forums to find my way.
how can we make caymanclub.net more visible to the web community? when one googles 'cayman forum or porsche cayman forum' we are nowhere to be found.
We are #1 for Cayman Club though! The meta tags include the word forum, it is also in the topic description, I don't know why Google isn't picking up this site very well for the search Cayman Forum. Maybe some other search experts have some ideas.
I managed to find the site through google, but it wasn't intuitive. I was hesitant to sign up at first, but I'm certainly glad that I did. I guess I don't usually associate club with a automotive enthusiast group. Here is a llink to how google ranks results. If we did some cross site advertising, in other words, trade banners with other Porsche enthusiast sites, we would likely boost our results on google.
Finding this forum was simple. But to build membership, this forum needs a stronger community and a more active OFF TOPIC area. You will notice that the larger, more successful forums have extremely active OFF TOPIC areas that help build relationships and create a true community atmosphere.
The Cayman specific areas on here are great, and are obviously the most important. But, to create a true community atmosphere, it would be better if we had a more interesting and active OFF TOPIC area. Just my 2 cents.
Considering our forum's current demographic, I don't think we can compete with the lunatics that overrun most OT forums. That's just my opinion, being a member of numerous automotive forums.
