I spent 3 weeks in Brazil in December 2004. Great time in Rio, Salvador de Bahia, and the Amazon jungle. Some of the activities in the Amazon inluded Piranha fishing, night Cayman spotting, and a native Amazon Indian dance and dinner in which we ate fresh fire roasted Cayman - it was delicious and of course tasted a bit like chicken. Here are a few of many pics taken:

Moleculo, why not? I had a great time even though I did get pick pocketed for $90 + my credit card but thankfully not until the day before I left. That certainly sucked but other than that...
O.K., I can't resist a response here. We eat gator in south Louisiana fried and in a sauce picante style of cooking (red sauce but no relation to salsa). It definitely tastes like white meat chicken as long as it is fresh. Oily tail meat has to be fresh to be good. Can be had in some restaurants but most often found at fairs and in homes down the bayou. We don't eat the heads. We dry them out and sell them to tourists...mostly Yankees! P.S. I know I am going to catch hell for this post. Peace brothers.

Gator meat was a nice treat when I lived in New Orleans. Take a drive out to the lower Parishes and listen to some music at a local fair while trying different foods. Very nice.
Fond memories .... I head down to New Orleans about every other month to visit family. I haven't seen another Cayman there (or here). Maybe we can meet up on my next trip.

A friend of mine died in Brazil last month. I'm actually attending the wake and funeral this weekend. Sorry I didn't mean to ruin the happy mood. Glad you had fun there.

I went to Brazil for two weeks in March '06. Rio De Janiero and Salvador De Bahia too! Great place, friendly people. Loved it. It's been my favorite country that I've visited lately (Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenija, Brazil).
