It was bound to happen. When I take the CS into San Francisco from Oakland weekdays I usually pick up a commuter so I can use the HOV lanes. The HOV lanes on the Bay Bridge require 3 people in the car if the car as rear seats.
Well apparently word of the CS is not yet out among the CHIPS working the bridge because this morning one of them had the lights on me as soon as I came out of the toll area. I saw him first, and so I warned my passenger that we were going to be pulled over because the CHIP would think he'd caught a 911 (seeing the CS from the front at a distance.)
The look on they guy's face was classic when he looked into the rear window to find . . . nothin! 'This is a four seater, right,' he says not believing his lying eyes. Nope, I say. Two seats. Engine's behind us. 'Where,' he says. (I'm really smiling now!) So, I give the CHIP the summary spec version of the CS. He smiles and says, 'I like it!' Hee hee hee, he's one of us I say to myself. Still looking into the rear window for those darn seats, the CHIP finally says 'okay, be safe . . . nice car.)
Thank goodness he never noticed (or acknowledged) the missing front license plate.
Today was a good day.

Pnut, I really believe the guy thought he saw a 911 coming his way. I've seen more than a few 911s trying to sneak through the HOV lanes in the morning with less than 3 passengers.

Funny story! I bet you enjoyed the look on his face. A few months ago I was pulled over for having an expired registration. The funny part is, it was a rental from Enterprise.
They have the rightto pull you over for a car pool violation. Would like to argue with them if I had a GT3.They can ticket you if your in a pickup with a bench seat as that will seat 3, buckets seats are ok.

Fiebru---I also had an Enterprise car with expired registration a few years ago. Never thot about it happening to anyone else. In my case, it was pointed out to me by an airport crossing guard and I took the car back to the nearest Enterprise office immediately.
Don't forget that the Cayman front trunk is meant to be occupied. That's why there is a handle inside to open it!
The front trunk would work at a drive-in, ops sorry there is not any around here anymore. You have to love the lawyers, we get inside trunk release on a trunk you could only put your baby in, enough warning stickers to hold a Yugo together.

We have a brand new drive-in theatre about four miles up the road here in the 'burbs of North Houston. They have two screens and show first-run movies, I went there two weeks ago with my wife and 10-year old daughter and saw Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest (in an Acura MDX). The great thing is they broadcast the sound for the movies on a low-wattage transmitter that comes out on a selected frequency to your car stereo. Really a nostalgic experience made a lot better.
