Today as I was leaving work later, I was trying to make up a little time and I got pulled over. I was behind a car in the right hand lane when I saw brake lights ahead in the same lane. I got over in the left but a car was driving up my tail so I hit it a bit. Right as I hit it I got clocked, 54 in a 40. The cop was nice but I'm bummed. It really s*cks to drive the speed limit in a Cayman.

Boy I can feel your pain. If you were going 60 or 70 it would be different, but that is a cheesy way to get a ticket. It is so hard to drive this car conservatively.

It is so true that it is difficult and frustrating to try and stay within the parameters of the law in the Cayman S. We have a car capable of doing 171mph and one that is muchmore comfortable cruising above 100mph, and yet I spend most of the time below 50mph. Even at legal highway speeds it feels like a crawl.I am going to join PCA mainly so I can go to track events and learn the capabilities of this incredible little coupe.

That's the very real argument for having a car like a Miata, truth to tell. You get to use more of its capabilities in normal driving. Whenever I'm in congested traffic (which in the Bay Area is pretty often) I often ponder why I'm in a performance car when a Civic would do just as well (and probably more comfortably). I suppose that's one good reason to have more than one car - an economy car with a good sound system for a point to point commute and a sports car for the good rides.
