But BMW does not want to follow the trend to the achievement explosion unreservedly and tried therefore to strengthen its authority in the own technology center land hat with the topic lightweight construction: Z8 and Rolls-Royce phantom with aluminum space Frame made the beginning, afterwards followed the F&uuml;nfer with aluminum front cars as well as M6 and M3 CSL with carbon fiber roofs. </div>

<div class="margin10o">The two-seat prototype Z29 weighs approximately 200 kilograms less than three, however with the aluminum rear axle the weight could be reduced by 30 per cent to altogether 42 kilograms. Front and tail module of the body consist likewise of aluminum and with the Monocoque are bolted. The doors, in modular construction with an interior and an external structure, up-swinging upward, manufactured, are held against it at one hinge each.

Lightweight construction windowpanes, carrierless wiper blades and an instrument panel as basic part, which is taken up of the air hoses of the heating, are further measures for weight reduction. And also in the wheel housings, the lagging and the exhaust system the technicians found redundant Pounds.

With the M3-Motor moved into the middle of vehicle and the Sechsgang SMG transmission it precedes so correctly in the small Coup&eacute;: 4.4 seconds needs BMW of zero on 100 km/h, three seconds for keeps in track from 80 to 120 km/h. And who has free travel on the motorway, it can bring on a point of 270 km/h. It harms only that the executive committee does not do with the official decision for a new sports car project so easily.</div>

It's a really light weight Bimmer, that probably won't be built, but if it was it would be quite a performer.

50-50 weight distribution, M3 six, SMG [Sequential Manual Gearbox, aka Sequential M Gearbox] work great in this small light coupe. 0-100 km/h 4.4 seconds. On the Autobahn, where the speed limit is not limited, you can cruise at the top speed of 270 km/h.The BMW executives have not yet approved this concept for production.

Does that help?
