Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

If you're a Will Ferrell fan then you will enjoy this movie because it is textbook Will Ferrell. The humor is pretty much what you can expect from a Will Ferrell movie, but it's not his best work. Nothing new to see. Sacha Baron Cohen shines as Jean Girard, the French F1 driver who challenges Will Ferrell's character, Ricky Bobby, for NASCAR supremacy. The only character I didn't care for was Lucious Washington, Michael Clarke Duncan's character. He's not a good actor and comedy is most definitely not his forte. Overall I give the movie 3 stars out of 5. Go see it if you want to laugh, but I wouldn't rush to the theater. Wait for the DVD instead.

I loved Anchorman and Old School. I know Old School typically gets all the raves, but nothing beats Will moaning 'I'm trapped in a glass case of emotion!' I'm probably going to catch this soon in the theaters even though you said to wait.

There's an Old School 2 coming soon. IMO Will Ferrell does his best when he's NOT the lead character. He was okay in Elf, but Bewitched and Kicking & Screaming were horrible. Anchorman and Old School were his best movies as a lead, but IMO not his best performances. He was hilarious in The Producers, Wedding Crashers, Starsky & Hutch, Boat Trip, Zoolander, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, The Ladies Man, and Austin Powers. I was really impressed with his performance in Melinda and Melinda.

I thought that Talladega Nights is his best movie yet. I was laughing throughout the movie. I'm not from the South. Living in Alabama and seeing Will make funof Nascar and the South was just too funny. It hit me right at home.
