The Porsche Store.

I was in Kuala Lumpur last week and in the Marriott they have a 3-level mall (Starhill Gallery) area with all "high end" shopping. One of the levels had a stand alone Porsche Store filled with all sorts of goodies. I've never come across a stand alone store before...

They had some neat stuff, but I didn't have time to dig as we were off to dinner...

Paul

Porsche has about 46 stores world wide:

It is a Porsche Design store. There are over 40+ stores across the world. Even Texas has one in Dallas.

Yeah, I remember that store well - for all the wrong reasons!

I'm Asian, 32 with 2 young kids. Probably doesnt fit into the demographics of Porsche design stores shopper because their sales people just totally ignored me but swooned over the other more "touristy" type customers.

Felt like slamming my cayman key on the counter to show them that I do drive a Porsche and I would love to buy something from their store if only they acknowledge my presence! But then, I dont normally bring my car key with me on holiday - so can't do the dramatic pissed off customer rant in the shop.

Oh Yes, I do remember that store.

Well...Porsche Design (as a whole) doesn't really market to Porsche car owners. Their specialty is Porsche branded accessories like wallets, purses, eyewear, clothing, cufflinks, writing instruments, etc. at premium prices, so it's no real surprise that their 'target demographic' is the rich touristy-looking person.

In fact, when visiting the local Porsche Design store here in Los Angeles, the salesman I talked to didn't even know there was a model out called the Cayman.

Obviously, this doesn't apply to the Porsche Design Driver's Collection.

I was at the one in rodeo drive in beverly hills, and there was nothing "Porsche" about it. And yes, the sales associate that was there, didn't even know cars, let alone about the cayman
