Drive Off Bluffs Kill Motorist - Toronto

Drive off bluffs kills motorist
Nov. 17, 2006. 08:46 PM
NICK KYONKA
STAFF REPORTER

One person is dead after a Porsche drove over the bluffs in Scarborough, falling about 70 metres before landing in Lake Ontario late Friday afternoon.
Emergency officials were called to the scene below Greyabbey Trail near Morningside Ave. and Guildwood Pkwy. shortly after 3 p.m. today for reports of a 1984 Porsche going over the bluffs.

A senior paramedic pronounced a 60-year-old man person dead at the scene, emergency workers confirmed.

“It sounds like a lone male was in the vehicle,” said acting Staff Sgt. Tony Forchione, of Toronto police.

Firefighters, paramedics and officers from the Toronto police marine unit were all on hand to investigate the incident, but few details are available.

“The officers on the scene really can’t figure it out as of yet,” Forchione said around 5 p.m.
