We have already been hit by an ice storm, but 500 miles south of us where a friend of mine lives in Texas they are now seeing the effect, look at the temperature drop in the last 4 hours, from over 70 to into the 30's which is what happened to us earlier today.
Even a few inches of snow in Santa Fe. My workshop got pretty cold today even with the heater on. The desk I'm building for my spouse's Christmas present took a step back...
Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service San Diego California
200 PM PST Wednesday Nov 29 2006
Synopsis...a very dry and very cold air mass is moving south across
the Great Basin. This will generate damaging Santa Ana winds over
southwest California through Thursday...cause critical fire weather
conditions through Sunday...and bring freezing nighttime
temperatures to most of the area. Dry offshore flow will prevail
into early next week. No precipitation is in sight for the next 9
days.
But the temperature/barometric pressure graph in Texas shows a very dramatic change in the weather there.
K-Man S, I'm 370 miles to your east. From what I understand, it's due to hit us hard sometime tomorrow. Today I could have run around outside in a t-shirt.
I guess I'll get to see how big a mistake it was to get the VSC/Traction Control instead of AWD on the Sienna.

Same thing here it seems...we have had really warm weather all fall and today it's nearly 16 degrees C. Tomorrow winter begins to bear down on us with colder weather and some freezing rain and snow.
Today I'm storing the CS for the winter...sniff. and the bike gets winterized this weekend. Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
It was 73 degrees on my drive in this morning at 6:30. Stepped outside a few minutes ago and it's probably low fifties and really windy. For once the weatherman is right!

It's 18 degrees with 4-8 inches of snow on the ground in Amarillo. New Cayman safely tucked in the garage. It was in the mid 60's on Tuesday. Weather on the high plains is variable.
