Audi TT RS.............Not a worry

Talk in the car mags is that the Audi TT RS was going to have:-

A V6 Twin Turbo with 350 BHP
or
A 5 Pot (half a Lambo V10) Twin Turbo with 350 BHP

One wondered just how Porsche would react to this.......don't worry.

Am Told today that the Audi TT RS will have a "Atmo" FSI 36 V6 as the new R36 VW Passat............Nice Motor, but only 300 BHP.

Mike

What makes you think anyone would care?

I understand your into checking out all the new releases, but with all due respect, I'd worry more about driving my new Cayman and what some other car maker is doing.

Thats only my personal opinion but like I said, I could care less if Audi, Lotus, or Buick built a 10,000 HP Quad Turbo, dual supercharged, AWD supercar. It still wouldn't be a Porsche and none of us has any control over what Porsche will do in the future

With respect ... I just don't get this constant fascination about competition for Porsche. Have fun with your car. Enjoy life. Life is WAY too short to worry about what the other guy is doing

To be fair, from what I've been able to discern from his posts, and I may be wrong, I don't think Mega actually owns a Cayman S yet, and maybe he cares because he's trying to make a purchase decision. But, I do agree that he tends to have a strange fascination with the "Kremlinology" if you will, of Porsche's response to every performance car announced, or dreamed of, for that matter.

No offense meant, Mega. Porsche will respond, however they do, and these thing rarely seem to change their long range plans. I gave up trying to read the tea leaves and/or goat entrails of Porsche AG's inner workings, strategies and rationales a long time ago. And, "talk in the car mags" is precisely that - just talk. Porsche, if/when they do respond, usually do so to things made of sheet metal, not print on a page.

Mega doesn't yet own a Cayman because:-

He Wants DSG
He wants a Clubsport verson
He wants to wait till he has moved from Liverpool so he don't get a 9mm put to his head like he did when he got Carjacked for is CTR Honda 3 years ago!

Cheers
Mike

Mike, I didn't know you haven't bought one yet. With respect then, I can see your checking out different cars. Its understandable to do your research first. I was going on the assumption you already had a Porsche.

I want the moon too. I guess we have settled for what we can get. Life is too short to wait ...

Best of luck!
