I vote for the Audi 2.0T FSI...an excellent motor demonstrating fantastic new technology. Great power, nearly no lag, good torque, smooth, efficient, and growls.

Second would be the Nissan 3.5VQ for its sheer flexibility and durability.

Third the new 335i turbo.

I agree with you Silent Will. As a long time VW/Audi fan , I was in love with the 1.8T (had it in 2 of my cars -Passat and A4) and loved it. The 2.0FSI is even better and more fun. Tons of potential.
VQ35 is a great engine as well and seems to be capable as a workhorse and a sporty motor.
335...what can you say...2 turbo's and 6 cyl...sounds like the right combo!

I would add the K20 motor from Honda/Acura since it's reliable, strong and I love VTEC....such fun!

I would agree with you on that. I own an Audi A3 2.0T with DSG and it's a lot of fun. Great engine and I haven't even done anything to it.

I can also vouch for the 2.0 T FSI engine- it is magnificent- loads of torque and and no turbo lag, pulls like a train- makes the very well buildt A3 an awesome drive. Also like the turbine smoothness of the smaller Bimmer straight sixes.
