March Madness!!!

Can someone explain to me how #1 Ohio State and #2 Kansas end up placing as the #3 and #4 overall seeds in the tourney? (The last 2 #1 seeds behind Florida and UNC).

Florida was ranked lower and beat a so-so team in the SEC tourney title match.

UNC was ranked lower and beat a less than average NC State team in the ACC title match.

Ohio State beat the #2 seed Big 10 Wisconsin team also ranked in the top 5 in last week's poll.

Kansas beat a top 15 team Texas with the nation's best player (Durant).

There is no logical reason I can come up with for Florida (who Kansas beat earlier this year) and UNC to leap frog over Kansas and Ohio State. Everyone thought Ohio State would be #1 in the Midwest region, but no, that was given to Florida??? Huh? If you are going to make Florida a #1 seed don't you do it in the South bracket? Additionally, Kansas gets shipped out to the West where it could well face UCLA the #2 seed in the West in what would basically be UCLA's back yard.

In my opinion Ohio State should have been the #1 seed in the Midwest, KU #1 in the South, UNC #1 in the East as it is, and Florida gets shipped out west since they've lost what 3 of their last 6 games?

Madness, it can only be March Madness...

Anyone surprised at some of the teams that didn't make it in the tourney???

I don't even bother trying to understand the stupid seeding system anymore. I get annoyed with the BCS Bowl rankings too!

Blame it on the NCAA selection committee... UCLA should have been a #1 seed given there overall year schedule. Florida is rated #1 overall because in the "eyes of the NCAA" they are the best overall team... I would have to agree with them... they are a pro team playing in the NCAA's.

I'm a UCLA alum and I don't agree with UCLA being a 2 seed... but in the end... there isn't really a huge difference between a 1 and 2 seed in the brackets.

BTW... Is Duke a 6 seed? Give me a break...

Drexel should have made it...

No doubt USC had a great year... congrats on that and I'll be rooting for all PAC 10 schools in the NCAA...

With Mayo (arrested for drug possession) and Love coming to the PAC 10 next year should be even better.

GO BRUINS!!!

The thing I don't understand is why Florida is in the "Midwest" and Ohio State is in the "South;" why didn't they put those guys where they each belong?

This has been one of the more messed up years with the seeding. I don't understand how Kansas is #1.

Every year is messed up! Kanas is #1 because they won there tournament... they are also one of the hottest teams right now who are peaking at the right time... hopefully UCLA will play them in the Elite 8 and see who's the better team.

If they meet, should be a good game. But UCLA is in funk right now. Crossing my fingers for the Bruins.

Can someone explain to me how Duke was a #7 seed in their ACC tourney but now is a #6 seed in the NCAA tourney???? They were 8-8 in their conference while other teams with 10+ wins were left at home. If that isn't favoritism for Coach K and/or Duke I don't know what is, must be some ploy by the NCAA to keep some "streak" alive.

Arkansas at 7-9 in their conference? Wow, talk about a team that doesn't deserve to get in while others are left sitting around. I'm sure the NCAA does this just to cause controversy and get people to tune in.

BTW, Kansas is a #1 seed because they are 30-4, 14-2 in their conference, won their conference title, won their conference tournament, and have 11 wins in a row (hot). On a neutral court Kansas beats UCLA, in UCLA's home state (backyard) it ought to be a close game. Another reason I don't understand shipping a #1 team across the country. Anyway ultimately you have to beat whomever you face to win it all, go 6-0 or go home.

"Arkansas at 7-9 in their conference? Wow, talk about a team that doesn't deserve to get in while others are left sitting around.
